Dan Neil from The Wall Street Journal this weekend reviewed (subscription required) the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt, General Motors’ new all-electric vehicle. Dan also posted a video review on YouTube. Dan’s conclusion is that:
You can’t object that the Bolt is too expensive, because it won’t be; you can’t say it doesn’t have enough range, because it certainly will. You can’t say EVs aren’t quick enough, because no one ever said they weren’t quick.
With 60 kWh of battery capacity providing about 200 miles of range, quick acceleration courtesy of 140 kW (equivalent to 200 hp) max output, 52.2 cubic feet of storage, and a starting price around $30,000 (after the $7,500 federal tax credit), Dan concludes the Bolt “marks the final readiness of EVs for the masses.”
